Link's Awakening Game of the Month

Link's Awakening/Link's Awakening DX was one of the first handheld Zelda adventures. (Link's Awakening DX had an extra, Game Boy Color specific dungeon, but could still be completed by playing it on a plain ol' Game Boy or Game Boy Pocket.) The storyline goes as follows: Link, our favorite young hero, is on a voyage across the sea, when out of nowhere he is caught in a very bad storm. The storm leaves him shipwrecked on the mysterious Koholint Island, where he meets a girl named Marin. Later he is told by a mysterious owl "Awaken the Wind Fish and all will be answered." Who was the Wind Fish? Where did the owl come from? Why did he land here on Koholint? Link knew that the only way to find all of this out was to take the owl's advice and awaken the mysterious Wind Fish.

TriforceTour Rating Breakdown

Graphics: 8.2
The graphics were a lot similar to A Link to the Past graphics, but watered down for a little Game Boy.
Gameplay: 9
A few spots here and there were annoying. (but hard puzzles are fun, right?)
Playability: 7.1
The game would leave you addicted for hours but sometimes left you frustrated and not knowing what to do.
Overall: 8.1
The game was overall a success for everyone and would leave you wanting more, either way. A great addition to the series.
